Coryell County commissioners approve bridge bid, grant agreement, cybersecurity training and $1.39M in bills

The Court awarded Bid CCRB 2026-04 for bridge work to Yoder Bridge LLC after a motion by Commissioner Kyle Matthews and a second by Commissioner Ryan Basham. The Court also accepted the Road and Bridge work summary for March 2026 on a motion by Matthews, seconded by Commissioner Keith Taylor.
The Court accepted regular financial reports from the County Judge’s Office and the County Auditor (covering December 2025 through March 2026) and approved minutes from the April 14, 2026 meeting. The consent agenda passed on a motion by Commissioner Ryan Basham and a second by Commissioner Keith Taylor.
On administrative and intergovernmental matters, the Court approved enrollment in the Texas Association of Counties annual Cyber Security Training (motion by Commissioner Scott Weddle, seconded by Commissioner Ryan Basham) and approved an interlocal agreement with the City of Copperas Cove to participate in the 2025 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (motion by Commissioner Kyle Matthews, seconded by Commissioner Ryan Basham).
The Court also approved the FY2026 Fire Fighter Agreement with the City of Copperas Cove after a motion by Commissioner Ryan Basham and a second by Commissioner Keith Taylor.
Financially, the Court voted to pay county bills totaling $1,393,030.68 on a motion by Commissioner Kyle Matthews with a second by Commissioner Scott Weddle; the minutes note attached supporting documents for the disbursements.
Two items were tabled for future consideration: the Comprehensive Fund Balance Policy (motion by Commissioner Scott Weddle, seconded by Commissioner Kyle Matthews) and Resolution 2026-03 concerning data centers (motion by Commissioner Kyle Matthews, seconded by Commissioner Ryan Basham).
