Noak/Praos landscape architect Georg(e)a Lstroski and store manager Dennis Sanders told the board the requested seasonal areas (about 7,700 square feet total) match earlier site-plan approvals and are needed to handle plant and landscape materials during peak spring and summer demand. Sanders said the storewhich he manages and recently began working with city staff to clean up prior storage issueshas improved organization and removed unauthorized containers. The store submitted a revised site plan the day before the meeting to propose some additional potential storage areas that would require planning review.
Planning staff reviewed the request and had no objections for the temporary seasonal locations; the board approved the seasonal outdoor sales for the dates listed in the application and noted that any permanent expansion or additional locations would require formal planning commission review and likely a return to the ZBA. The board emphasized that store management must keep the approved areas clean and organized and that staff will follow up on compliance.
Store management said they will keep a calendar and tighter coordination with regional teams and the city so future seasonal requests follow the planning schedule.
The motion passed by roll call with a majority in favor; the vote authorizes temporary outdoor sales in the two approved areas for the specified seasonal windows.
