Budget Advisory Committee adopts its 2026 goals

After reviewing draft deliverables requested by the city manager, the committee unanimously adopted a set of goals for 2026 that include completing the reserve recommendation and reviewing department operational and capital priorities.
Jenny Nolan reviewed the list of draft goals the city manager requested boards and committees provide for 2026. Goals included completing and presenting the reserve recommendation issue brief; reviewing each department's 2025 operational budget and top three capital items; and producing an annual report with the committee's reserve policy examples.
"I will formally move that we adopt these goals for 2026," a committee member said; another member seconded the motion and the committee voted verbally in favor. Chair closed the discussion and thanked staff for the presentation. The committee will include these adopted goals in the annual materials sent to the city manager for council consideration.
