Laurens County Council on May 11 approved routine meeting minutes, made a board appointment and passed an ordinance on second reading expanding the Hunter Industrial Park.
Council approved the minutes for the April 13 regular session and the March 23 quarterly public-input session by voice/raise of hands. Council member Lane nominated Larry Franklin to represent District 7 on the Assessment Board of Appeals; the appointment was announced during the meeting. On second reading the council approved Ordinance 1009 to add certain Laurens County property to the Hunter Industrial Park and to move properties into a new park agreement; the motion passed with seven votes in favor.
Later, council voted to enter executive session to receive legal advice concerning civil action 2005 CP 301031; after returning to open session the board said no action would be taken publicly.
No additional ordinances or formal votes were taken at the May 11 meeting beyond the items listed above.
