Staff said they will mark up the stage-two plans and ask the consultant to rework the estimate to reflect the reduced scope. The committee was told that if the project stays within the anticipated estimate, any costs above the project limit could become the city’s responsibility, so the city is pursuing a design that minimizes extras and possible change orders.
Next steps: staff will submit marked-up stage-two plans to ODOT/consultant Gail and return with a revised estimate and recommended scope adjustments for council consideration.
