The commission opened a public hearing and recorded no public comments. Commissioner Bailey moved to recommend approval; Commissioner Swanson seconded and the roll call vote was unanimous. Staff will forward the planning commission's recommendation to the city council for final action.
Background and implementation Staff noted the split zoning dated to a 1990s subdivision that left the rear portion on a different zoning designation; correcting the map would retain RE-20 protections for the full parcel and preserve long-standing on-site agricultural uses. Staff recommended follow-up rezone processes for adjacent parcels with similar split-zoning if property owners request them.
