The council appointed three members to its planning and zoning commission and continued a rezoning public hearing to provide the applicant additional time to revise exhibits.
Staff reported three full-member vacancies and recommended promoting Chelsea Young (an alternate) to full member; council then voted to appoint Chelsea Young, Doug Thomas and Michelle Geski to full terms. The appointees were selected from a pool of applicants and alternates; the city will confirm terms and seating per its commission-appointment process.
On land use, planning staff opened a public hearing for a planned-development rezoning at 520 Milton Street for a retail strip; the applicant requested more time to revise proposed development standards. The council voted to continue the hearing to its June 8 meeting and closed the public hearing for now.
What happens next: planning staff will return with updated exhibits and the new planning-and-zoning full roster will sit for future hearings and UDC workshops.
