Wausau council approves minutes, routine licenses and mayoral appointments in May 12 session

At its May 12 meeting the Wausau Common Council handled routine business and several unanimous approvals. After proclamations and a guest presentation, the council approved minutes from the April 21 organizational meeting and April 28 regular meeting (motion by Alder Watson; vote 11-0).
The council approved the remainder of the consent agenda (vote 10-1). Later in the meeting it approved File 26-08 (licenses recommended by the Public Health and Safety Committee) by an 11-0 vote and confirmed mayoral appointments to several boards and commissions under File 26-0502, noting one name spelling discrepancy to be corrected; that motion also passed 11-0.
Mayor Doug Denny announced committee assignment adjustments, including naming Alder Slansky chair of the transit commission and rebalancing infrastructure committee assignments. A citizen announced an overnight bagpiper tribute for National Police Week and the meeting adjourned.
