Personnel recommendations were approved, including the appointment of D.J. Smith as athletic director; trustees thanked outgoing employees and accepted resignations as presented.
Administration recommended renewing the district’s long‑standing contract with Taher for food services for 2026–27 with a roughly 4% increase to the contractor’s per‑meal administrative fee and fixed management fee. Trustees discussed whether families would absorb any cost increases and were told the district typically covers such increases to keep meal prices low. The board voted to renew the contract; the motion passed unanimously.
The board also approved summer I Read remediation for elementary students, accepted a $750 donation to the baseball ECA account from Blue Cord Plumbing, accepted a $10,000 donation from Google earmarked for learning during inclement weather (the district will determine specific uses and reporting), and accepted a $200,000 donation to the FFA/agriculture program to fund greenhouse work and two new pathways (veterinary science and ag mechanics). Administration said the community foundation will house some donated funds and reimburse the district as purchases are made.
Trustees approved an overnight volleyball camp for July 29–31 at Indiana Wesleyan and closed routine business. All motions recorded in these items passed 4–0.
