Laguna Beach council signals move to overturn DRB approval for Egan Homestead replacement amid historicity dispute

The Laguna Beach City Council on March 23 heard hours of testimony over an appeal of the Design Review Board'approved plan to demolish an aging single'family dwelling at 31526 (the Egan homestead) and construct a new two'story single'family residence. After long public comment from neighbors, historians and consultants, the council directed staff to draft a resolution overturning the DRB approval and denying the project.
