Council backs transfer of Class C and SDM liquor licenses to new Wixom Station owners

The council on May 12 voted to support transferring an existing Class C on-premise retail liquor license and an SDM off-premise license to Wixom Station PT LLC, and to authorize Sunday AM/PM sales, an outdoor service permit, and updates to the city’s social-district map for the business at 49115 Pontiac Trail.
Assistant City Manager Benson summarized staff’s background review and recommended approval, noting the applicants agreed to sign a restriction to keep the Class C license within the city if it is ever transferred again. Applicants Steven Meyer and his wife introduced themselves and said they intend to operate the business similarly to the prior owner; attorney Anthony Shaw was present as counsel.
“...we’re the owners of Wixom Station PT LLC and we’re committed to run a clean, safe and professionally run business in the city,” Steven Meyer said during his introduction. Council members expressed appreciation for the applicants’ willingness to follow existing transfer-restriction practices and voted in favor of the resolution.
The council’s approval authorizes the local recommendation necessary for state liquor-license processing and allows the license transfer to proceed to the Michigan Liquor Control Commission for final action. Staff directed the applicants to coordinate onboarding steps with city staff, including DDA and licensing contacts.
