Shane Hamilton, director of the Baltimore Festival, presented a proclamation letter asking the village to permit use of the park grounds, the shelter house and early setup on July 26 for the festival scheduled Aug. 6–8.
Hamilton described the program: a community pep rally, a free movie night, a Friday car show with live music, a Saturday 5K and parade at 10:30 a.m., and a closing band. Organizers also requested permission for a beer garden and a cornhole tournament; Hamilton said the pilot beer garden the previous year "did pretty well" and that insurance and usual coordination materials will be provided prior to the event.
Council asked staff to place a resolution on the next council meeting agenda; Hamilton said he will provide proof of insurance and additional documentation before final approval.
