The Lodi School District recognized volunteers credited with organizing and executing the recent "LOI Grows Together" school-forest planting and timber-harvest activities.
District speakers thanked Corey for coordinating planting logistics and attending school-forest committee meetings; Dylan Bell was recognized for marking trees and coordinating the timber harvest; Brooke Pushigan was praised for organizing trees, supporting student engagement and speaking to students about her career. The district also presented "Taking Positive Steps of Service" awards to school-forest committee members Leo Olsen, Connor Anderson, Paulaton, Chris McNeel, Cody Andress and Val Bilki in appreciation of their logistics, communication and community-engagement work that made the planting event possible.
Board members and staff noted the event’s strong student engagement and media attention, and encouraged documentation and continued educational use of the school-forest as a long-term outdoor learning resource.
The district asked awardees and board members to take a photograph at the meeting and said the awards and survey results would be posted to the district website.
