Morton Grove board adopts ordinance adjusting fines, OKs parade closure, website contract and warrants

On May 12 the Village Board adopted Ordinance 26-10 to adjust roughly 20 municipal fines, approved Resolution 26-33 closing Dempster Street for the July 4 parade, authorized a website agreement with Clarity Partners (Resolution 26-34), approved the warrant register of $2,436,421.92, and introduced Ordinance 26-11 (first reading) for Poco Loco’s accessory structure.
The Morton Grove Village Board on May 12 approved several routine measures and introduced one ordinance for first reading.
Staff member Chuck presented Ordinance 26-10, a second-reading amendment to Title 1, Chapter 4, Section 2 of the village code to adjust about 20 fines and clarify penalties related to parking and other listed offenses. ‘‘This would just be adjusting about 20 fines and provide clarity for staff in regards to traffic or... parking fines throughout the village,’’ Chuck said. Trustee Th moved to adopt the ordinance; Trustee Minkx seconded and the board voted 6–0 to adopt Ordinance 26-10.
Trustee Minkx introduced Resolution 26-33 to permit the partial or complete closure of Dempster Street between Central and Lincoln Avenues for the Morton Grove Fourth of July parade, scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. on July 4, 2026. He said the Illinois Department of Transportation requires the village to adopt a resolution and assume responsibility for traffic control and related liabilities. The board approved the resolution 6–0.
Trustee Shea presented Resolution 26-34 authorizing an agreement with Clarity Partners for website design and hosting. Trustees were told the firm would be engaged only if issues arise that cannot be resolved internally and that there is no ongoing cost; the resolution passed 6–0.
Trustee Khan presented the warrant register for May 12, 2026 in the amount of $2,436,421.92. The board voted to approve the register 6–0.
Trustee White introduced Ordinance 26-11, the first reading of an amendment to a special use permit to allow a detached accessory structure at 5633 Dempster for the Poco Loco property. There was no action on the first reading.
The board adjourned after approving the listed measures.
