Wyoming County Schools honor students for art and return to Special Olympics

Organizers singled out staff and volunteers—including Shoemate, Holly Hill and others—for shepherding the Special Olympics relaunch and the youth art submissions. Shoemate handed certificates and encouraged families to take photos; event organizers noted that many students who competed in winter events will also participate in upcoming spring games.
The recognitions included students from Westside, Berlin, Pablo and other county schools; staff emphasized the community interest and attendance, and encouraged families to attend the spring events.
The board moved on after the ceremony to the formal business portion of the meeting.
Ending: The event concluded with a surprise for student athletes and a reminder that the district will livestream recognition events for families who cannot attend.
