The East Allen Township Planning Commission completed its postponed reorganization Feb. 5, nominating Robert Mel as chair, Marty Chamberlain as vice chair and Norman Daniel as secretary. Because there were no competing nominees, commissioners accepted the single nominations by acclamation or de-facto ballot.
Commissioners discussed the roles of officers as they reviewed the draft bylaws, noting that officer duties and an attendance policy would be integrated into the revised document. The commission directed staff to circulate the revised bylaws and related agenda-format proposals prior to the next meeting, with an intention to vote on adoption after further review and any edits.
No formal roll-call vote for the officer positions was recorded in the minutes; the commission treated the single nominations as de facto elections under Robert's Rules procedures. The commission also asked members to submit any recent training records so staff can update the annual-report training table.
