The East Allen Township Planning Commission met on Jan. 8, 2026, approved the Dec. 4 minutes and recommended that the township zoning hearing board grant a special exception for JLF Summer LLC to operate a commercial flooring business at 8465 Airport Road.
Commission member 'Norm' moved and 'Art' seconded approval of the Dec. 4 minutes; roll call recorded Mr. Daniel, Mr. Heming and Mr. Mills voting yes. Later in the meeting the commission voted 3–0 to recommend that the zoning hearing board grant JLF Summer LLC’s request after the applicant described operations and site controls.
The meeting also included a technical preliminary-plan review of the Nwood subdivision and an extended discussion of a proposed East Allen elderly-housing zoning amendment; staff and commissioners agreed more technical responses and a staff workshop are needed before either matter returns for formal action. No final decisions were made on the subdivision or the text amendment.
The commission noted several administrative items, including plan-expiration dates for pending applications and reminders to file ethics paperwork. The meeting adjourned following a motion by Norm and a second by Art.
