School board endorses NRV Reset therapeutic day program, commits $75,000

Dr. Gimple told the board the program’s total budget is about $350,000 and the participating cost for this division would be “around $75,000,” divided among four school divisions. He said the program will start with about five slots per division, serving elementary through middle school students with therapeutic needs, and that administrators hope the program can begin in the 2026–27 school year.
The motion to approve Montgomery County Public Schools’ support was moved and seconded with Dr. Rantry and Miss Parton named during the motion; the board’s roll call returned seven votes in favor and the motion carried. Chair Purcell confirmed that the board’s vote was a formal expression of support only and not an enrollment contract.
Dr. Gimple said the division will pursue grant funding to offset local costs and that Matt Dun Levy will take the lead on grant applications. He also said Rob Graham will submit an updated proclamation listing participating divisions after the board’s approval.
Board members asked whether the endorsement required an immediate allocation of funds. Dr. Gimple reiterated that the approximate $75,000 figure is the local share as currently presented and that grant-seeking could reduce the net local cost. He also said the initial slot allocation would begin conservatively to allow the program to scale.
Next steps: the administration will seek grants, present any final agreements to the board as needed, and share the updated proclamation with board members.
