At its May 11 meeting the Caswell County Board of Education approved multiple routine purchases and a contract extension.
The Federal Programs Director requested $18,888.66 (three-year quote) to purchase Edmentum's Exact Path for NL Dillard Middle School. Staff said Exact Path performs similarly to the district's current diagnostic system and adds science and social-studies instructional resources. The board approved using school-level Title I funds for the purchase.
The board also approved a Title I allocation of $9,999.99 for a high-school hood box (described in meeting materials as a multiuse, weatherproof display that could be used at outdoor events such as graduation). Members noted timing and multiuse potential before approving the purchase.
Separately, the board moved and carried an extension of an existing mineral contract to June (recorded as motion carried). Several housekeeping and policy items were previewed, including a first-reading update to a parent-grievance form and reminders about testing windows and facilities-plan deadlines.
Board members asked staff to ensure procurement timelines and any contract approvals align with fiscal-year constraints and the required budget-amendment processes.
