The Clarkdale Zoning Code Update Citizen Advisory Committee voted on Dec. 4, 2025 to approve revisions to Chapter 7 (special event permitting and related signage/permit review) and Chapter 8 (outdoor lighting), and to forward those chapters to the Planning Commission for further action.
On Chapter 7, members questioned whether temporary sign and banner review is part of the special event permit process. Staff clarified that signage review occurs at the staff level and is not forwarded to the Planning Commission; the special event permit is managed by Parks and Recreation and the application fee covers internal review. Following the clarification, a member moved to approve the Chapter 7 edits; the motion was seconded and carried with no recorded opposition.
For Chapter 8 (outdoor lighting), staff presented the revisions and members raised no substantive questions. A motion to approve Chapter 8 changes was seconded and carried with no recorded opposition.
The transcript does not record individual vote names or a detailed tally; the chair announced approvals and that the revisions will be transmitted per the code update process. Staff indicated they will incorporate the committee’s requested wording fixes and return other items (notably Chapter 9) for further review.
