Board approves grant applications and design work for asbestos abatement and roof projects

The facilities committee recommended the projects and the motions to authorize re‑roofing design and professional engineering services for the respective buildings carried by voice vote.

Board members said the projects respond to deferred maintenance priorities identified by the facilities committee and underscored that the district had been addressing a backlog of capital needs. Several related motions to authorize design work and to award engineering services for a Marboro Elementary wastewater treatment modification were approved in the consent of facilities items.

Next steps: district administration will proceed with grant applications and the facilities committee will oversee design procurement and implementation if grant awards are secured.
