The Upper Adams SD committee reviewed results of a food-service RFP required every five years. Staff said six vendors attended the pre-bid meeting and three submitted proposals. After independent scoring on state-mandated and district criteria, the review committee recommended renewing the contract with Chartwells for another five-year term.
Presenters said Chartwells provided stronger rebate estimates and operational continuity with a seasoned director familiar with district needs; other vendors offered different rebate and staffing proposals that ranked lower on the committee’s scoring matrix. The recommendation will be placed on the consent agenda for the full board to consider at the next meeting.
Committee members praised the process used for evaluating vendors and thanked the staff lead for coordinating the RFP. No final contract award was recorded in the committee meeting; trustees were informed the item would come to the board for formal action.
