Athens EDC approves $10,000 sponsorship for Old Fiddler’s Reunion

Community Development Manager Donna Meredith presented the request and outlined the available sponsorship tiers; she noted the EDC sponsored the event at $7,500 last year. Director Traci Wilkes had declared a conflict of interest at the start of the meeting related to the Old Fiddler’s Foundation.
Following a brief discussion about sponsorship levels and the foundation’s use of funds, Director Jeff Whitnah moved to provide a $10,000 sponsorship; Director Bryan Clemmons seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
The minutes record no additional conditions attached to the sponsorship. Staff will follow standard processing to issue the sponsorship payment and record it in the EDC’s accounts.
