Committee approves address corrections and recommends raze order for derelict Shore Avenue property

On May 4 the Community Life and Public Safety Committee approved three address corrections to ensure compliance with village and Marathon County E911 addressing standards, and recommended that the board authorize initiation of a raze order for the derelict property at 4104 Shore Avenue.
Staff described the address corrections as sequencing and duplex/unit clarifications on Delicowski Street, Ross (Radkkey) Avenue and a private drive leading to new duplexes; property owners will be notified and US Postal Service and E911 records will be updated. The committee approved the recommendation to the board in a voice vote.
Regarding 4104 Shore Avenue, staff said the structure has been abandoned for years and was considered in poor condition; the fire department had declined a controlled burn because the structure was unsafe for that exercise. Staff noted demolition costs will be tracked and returned to the tax roll. Olsen moved and Campkey seconded the motion to recommend authorization to begin the raze order and the motion passed by voice vote.
Staff will proceed with legal notifications, title search and contractor procurement so the raze can be completed and costs assessed to the property as allowed by municipal code.
