Adriana Ramirez, executive director of the Connecticut Family Support Network, told RAC members she had circulated a save-the-date for the One Voice conference, scheduled for April 30, 2026 in North Haven, and suggested using regional workshops to connect families with social groups, camps and providers.
"I did share... the save the date for our one voice conference. It's going to be happening on April 30th, 2026... and we will be hosting it again in North Haven," Adriana said, asking members to hold the date.
Committee members described a growing number of family-run social groups (Club 203, Families United/Newtown, Sun, Moon and Stars) and said a coordinated virtual event or regional workshop could help families learn where groups meet, what age ranges are served and how to contact organizers. Members recommended compiling a single calendar of playgroups, social groups and camps and having staff circulate it to the RAC.
Public commenters also highlighted ongoing bilingual playgroups and Spanish-language workshops and asked staff to circulate dates and registration details via Eunice. The committee supported creating a one-hour showcase event for social groups similar to prior camps workshops.
What's next: Staff and Adriana will work on a proposal for a coordinated workshop or showcase and will share playgroup and camp dates with the committee for wider distribution.
