Engineering reports: Delinda/McGallard lane closure, 72-inch sewer cleaning and upcoming Touch Truck event

He reported the sewer crew began cleaning a 72-inch sewer that serves Muncie's south and east sides, starting at 16th and Pen; the work requires bypass pumping using a fabricated dam and trailer pumps and should reduce flooding and backups during rain events.
Separately, the chair announced a free family-friendly "Touch Truck" event planned for the last Friday in June (he referenced the 26th) at 301 North High adjacent to City Hall, with departments and public-safety vehicles participating and free food. Chair also said MSD staff contributed substantial in-house work that reduced an estimated $640,000 pool repair cost to about $50,000, crediting Jason Ingram and Sean for the savings.
The board had no additional department-head presentations this week and adjourned following routine motions.
