At the May 12 meeting the council proclaimed the week of May 17–23 as National Public Works Week. Staff and Mayor Brian Dowski thanked public works employees for their efforts during floods and storms and recognized maintenance supervisor Ignasio Hernandez, who received an award from the American Public Works Association; council indicated a plaque would be presented to Hernandez the following day.
Staff asked public works staff in the audience to stand as the council expressed appreciation for maintenance, infrastructure and emergency work that supports community resilience.
