Neighbor tells Avon council live music at Alenorium disrupts nearby neighborhood; staff to take sound readings

During public comment on May 14, resident Jay Greenberg told the Avon Town Council that live music at the new Alenorium, which opened in mid‑March, is producing low‑frequency bass that carries into the nearby Cobblestone Springs neighborhood.
"It's not necessarily the volume level. It's more the bass ... the constant thud which goes on during their live music," Greenberg said, adding that Alenorium schedules entertainment multiple nights a week and that midweek shows were planned. He said he discussed the matter with the restaurant manager and with code enforcement but had not reached a resolution and wanted to put his concerns on the record.
Council and staff responded that code enforcement has received multiple complaints and that officers have been in contact with Alenorium. Town staff purchased sound‑level measuring equipment and planned to take readings on Saturday to document levels. Ryan (town staff) said staff asked the restaurant to be a 'good neighbor' and consider lowering volume while mitigation options — such as buffers, additional landscaping or operational adjustments — are pursued.
The council did not take regulatory action at the meeting; staff said they will report measurement results and next steps to the council.
