Sugar Grove trustees approve routine appointments, consent agenda and procurement items

The Village of Sugar Grove board on March 3 approved multiple routine items and appointments during its meeting.

Appointments and reappointments: The board reappointed Julio Calibri to the Board of Police Commissioners, reappointed David Kins to the police pension board and reappointed Jonathan Barrett and Robert Airheart to the planning commission and zoning board of appeals. Each appointment was made by motion, seconded and approved by roll‑call votes.

Consent agenda: Trustees approved the consent agenda, which included approval of meeting minutes, vouchers, an audit services agreement, a flat utility easement for Sugar Grove LLC, a boundary agreement resolution, purchase of bulk rock salt and a resolution closing out the 2025 annual road program with a change order and final payment.

Procurement and project closeout: The board approved participation in the Illinois state joint purchasing contract for bulk rock salt (staff noted the program’s 80/120 purchase rule for committed volumes) and approved a change order and final payment for the village’s 2025 annual road program (staff cited a change order of about $29,772).

Executive session: Trustees voted to enter executive session to discuss litigation (case reference listed in the meeting as '5CS 122C11') and planned to adjourn after the closed session.

What this means: The votes advance routine municipal operations — staffing, procurement and project closeout. The more contested item was the conditional approval of the Area One plat; that approval requires developer‑submitted corrections before recording.
