Staff highlights heritage nomination, market fundraiser and community events; McGinness RFP posted

At a Columbia Borough Council meeting, staff reported that Megan Salvatore with the Susan National Heritage Area, who runs Columbia Crossings, was nominated as a finalist for a Discovery Lancaster 2026 award in the attractions/activity leader category.

A staff member said the McGinness press release and an associated request for proposals have been posted to the borough website and provided to the Lancaster and Columbia economic development corporations; the materials were also shared with the police department’s web and Facebook pages.

Council members and staff promoted several upcoming community events. Michelle Kaufman and others described a market-hosted “jail bail” fundraiser taking place on Saturday, encouraging donations and signups.
