Belmont will seek recommendations after lobbyist resigns to run for state House

Staff said Hager had been effective at navigating the state budget process and in advancing Belmont projects, and council directed staff to reach out to local legislators and representatives (named in discussion as possible referees) for suggestions and to return with a short list of firms for the council's consideration.
Staff noted the city budget contains funds for lobbying in the current fiscal year and that the recommended next steps include narrowing candidates and seeking a firm with local, state-level experience in municipal advocacy.
