"We're trying to make an impact on the community by creating pilots and professionals and pioneers," Miller said, describing years of military and general-aviation experience behind the program. He thanked Berkley school staff named in his remarks for facilitating a directed-study arrangement that allows students to receive elective credit for aviation coursework.
Miller's remarks were part of the meeting's non-agenda public-comment period and did not prompt council action at the meeting, but staff and council acknowledged the presentation and took Mr. Miller's contact materials for follow-up.
