Gounardes) passed (AYES 47, NAYs 13). Multiple education bills were approved, including Senate Print 610A (Calendar 309, Sen. Stavisky) which passed on a voice/roll call with AYES 60; Senate Print 5340B (Calendar 311) passed (AYES 52, NAYs 8); Senate Print 5706A (Calendar 313) passed (AYES 54, NAYs 6); Senate Print 7025B (Calendar 314) passed (AYES 59, NAYs 1); Senate Print 8496C (Calendar 315) passed (AYES 42, NAYs 18); and Senate Print 3071A (Calendar 317) passed (AYES 60).
Other enacted items included Senate Print 3189 (Calendar 320, Social Services Law amendment) and Senate Print 2613 (Calendar 332, Tax Law amendment), the latter recorded AYES 58, NAYs 2. The chamber also passed Senate Print 490 (Calendar 365, Penal Law amendment) and Senate Print 6217 (Calendar 375, Workers' Compensation Law amendment). Senator Fernandez explained the workers' compensation bill on the floor, saying it raises a pre-authorization threshold and restores certain out-of-network access for injured workers.
On other individual items, Senator Weik explained her NO vote on Calendar 306 (Senate Print 8853) citing opposition to mandatory medicine; Senator Mayer explained her YES vote, saying the bill aligns required school vaccinations with major medical organizations. The Senate concluded its calendar business and adjourned to a subsequent session on March 5.
