Commissioner Christina Luna leaving Daly City Recreation Commission for library board

Commissioner Christina Luna told colleagues at the Feb. 24 meeting that it was her final Recreation Commission session because she will join the Daly City Library Board of Trustees.
Luna said she joined the commission eight years ago and reflected on mentorship, department growth and the commissions expanded service during the pandemic. "When I joined, I was the youngest commissioner... Im so grateful for the opportunity to serve," she said.
Colleagues offered tributes, recalled Lunas mentorship and said the library trustees will be fortunate to have her experience. Commissioners said they will attend her swearing-in and continue collaboration across recreation and library programs.
The commission acknowledged Lunas service as it completed other agenda business and scheduled its next meeting for March 24.
