The Daly City Recreation Commission reelected Fernando Montanes as chair and chose Adonis Marcelino as vice chair during its Feb. 24, 2026 reorganization meeting.
Commissioner Ortiz nominated Montanes for chair, citing his year of leadership and continuity for upcoming 2026 goals; colleagues seconded the nomination and a motion to reelect was approved by roll call. The roll call recorded Commissioners Ortiz, Luna, Marcelino and Montanes as voting in favor.
Commissioner Ortiz then nominated Adonis Marcelino for vice chair. Commissioners seconded the nomination and approved his election by roll call. The commission recorded all present members voting in favor.
The nominations and votes were conducted as part of the meetings reorganization item; commissioners said maintaining continuity at the commission leadership level will help steady delivery of the departments 2026 events calendar and fundraising priorities.
The commission moved on to the staffs director report after completing the reorganization and formal roll calls. The next Recreation Commission meeting is scheduled for March 24, 2026.
