The group flagged potential impacts to endangered species and said the Environmental and Historic Preservation (EHP) review and Section 406 mitigation planning must be completed before major work proceeds. The plan described MoDOT’s role as supplying material (rock) and the county’s role as supplying equipment and labor; coordination with CRC was identified as necessary to review costs and schedule work.
Commissioners discussed next steps: contacting contractor Chad with Granger Dirtworks to develop cost estimates, engaging county engineers to produce written justification for the repairs, and having Gregg Sweeten draft explanatory language for stakeholder review. No formal vote or contract award was taken at the Sept. 8 meeting. The commission will continue coordination and permit-related steps before construction begins.
