City Manager reported May 6 that the City of Bonita Springs has received notice from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that a grant agreement will be forthcoming for $2,000,000 toward the Rosemary Drive stormwater drainage and pedestrian safety project.
"We have been notified that we will be receiving a grant agreement, through HUD, in the amount of $2,000,000 for the Rosemary Drive stormwater drainage and pedestrian safety project," the city manager said. Staff characterized the dollar amount as a placeholder and said grant agreements and next steps on contracting will follow the formal paperwork.
The manager also noted four city projects remain in the state appropriations process and encouraged outreach to the delegation; staff said the amounts shown in appropriations are placeholders and may differ from original requests.
Council did not take a formal vote on the grant notice during the meeting; staff indicated they will bring the formal funding agreement and necessary ratification items to council when documentation arrives.
