Council members debated whether to post the draft budget or a summary for public review prior to the next meeting. Village manager Julian Mansfield said the draft can be posted but noted traditional practice has often been to publish after committee review; the treasurer cautioned that releasing detailed, unapproved draft numbers could create process difficulties and suggested publishing a summary-level version with a clear process for managing public comments. Several council members asked for summary materials to be available and requested copies at the next meeting.
Outcome: Council unanimously agreed to postpone the adoption vote and to continue review; staff were asked to consider publication options (summary vs. detailed draft) and to make materials available to the public in advance of the next meeting.
