Fond du Lac City Council unanimously approves liquor licenses, board appointments and police working agreement

At its May 13 meeting the Fond du Lac City Council unanimously approved two alcohol licenses, several board appointments and reappointments, a working conditions agreement with the Police Supervisory Association covering 2026–2028, and a resolution to participate in the State of Wisconsin deferred compensation program.
The Fond du Lac City Council unanimously approved a series of routine business items and employee-labor and retirement actions at its May 13, 2026 meeting.
Council voted to grant a Class B intoxicating liquor license and a Class B fermented malt license to Fondelac 3830 Incorporated, which plans to operate a combined Applebee’s and IHOP at 841 West Johnson Street. The council also approved a Class B fermented malt license and a Class C wine license for Brew and Barrel LLC, planned as a coffee café and wine bistro at 21 North Portland Street (agent: Sherry Thompson Verdon). City staff said background checks were completed and the alcohol license committee recommended approval; the motions passed unanimously.
The council approved two appointments recommended by City Manager Mr. Moore: a new volunteer for the Park Board and Luis Gudex to the Planning Commission. Council members also voted to reappoint members to the Board of Appeals, the Historic Preservation Commission and the Police and Fire Commission; President Keith Heistler thanked volunteers for their service.
City Attorney Miss Hoffman and chief negotiator Chad Wade introduced a working conditions agreement between the city and the Police Supervisory Association covering 2026–2028. Officials said the agreement meets the budgetary goals the council previously set; the council approved the resolution unanimously.
Miss Hoffman also introduced Resolution No. 9241 to allow participation in the State of Wisconsin deferred compensation program at the request of Fire Local; the council approved that resolution unanimously as well.
All formal motions during the business portion of the meeting were adopted without recorded dissent. The meeting concluded with the council adjourning by unanimous vote.
