Finance staff reported bond and audit updates and briefed the committee on upcoming procedural items.
Don said the 2019 bond is fully expended and the account closed. Because of lower costs and interest income, the district used some 2023 bond funds to pay for the middle‑school carpet and library, and staff will review 2024 bond bills to determine remaining availability for MFP projects such as the gym floor.
On the audit, staff said auditors began work in the first week of September; the district completed the first round of items and expects to begin the annual financial report in November if auditor requests proceed on schedule. Committee members welcomed returning to a regular audit cycle.
The committee also reviewed a list of candidates for the PSBA governing board and asked members to direct staff (Joe) with their selections so the district’s votes can be placed on the full board agenda for approval at the next meeting.
