Salisbury Township School Board elects Joe Ganal president, Sarah Nemitz vice president

The Salisbury Township School District Board of Directors elected Joe Ganal president and Sarah Nemitz vice president during its Dec. 4, 2024, reorganization meeting.
Ian Rabani was first appointed temporary president for the reorganization proceedings. After nominations and a roll-call vote, the clerk announced that Joe Ganal received six votes and was elected board president. Later in the meeting the board nominated and elected Sarah Nemitz as vice president by roll-call vote; the clerk reported six votes for Nemitz.
The votes followed routine procedural steps required by board policy and state reorganization rules, including a motion to close nominations before each roll-call. Ganal, addressing the board after his election, thanked colleagues for their confidence and said he will “direct the board as to where we need to go” while preparing to lead the board’s work in the coming year.
The reorganization meeting also included appointment of the district’s representative to the El TriCity Board of Trustees (Sam Def Frank), committee meeting date confirmations, and other standard organizational housekeeping.
The board then recessed the reorganization session and convened its Operations and Finance meeting to consider agenda items including capital projects, a technology refresh, audit timing, and personnel and policy matters. The board recorded all votes and actions in the public meeting minutes.
