District moves naming-rights policy to first reading and updates calendar policy after state change

Administration recommended sending the draft for a first reading next week and to PSBA/legal review before a second reading in October.
School-calendar policy: Dr. Stoker summarized a statutory change (December 2023) that allows districts to meet either 180 instructional days or required instructional hours; administration proposed updating policy language to reflect the "days-or-hours" option while indicating the district intends to maintain 180 days (with existing Act 80 exceptions). The committee agreed to move the revised calendar policy to the board agenda for first reading.
Both items were presented as first-reading actions with additional legal and board review to follow.
