Belvidere committee approves appointments, engineering and equipment contracts in consent votes

At its May 11 Committee of the Whole meeting, the Belvidere council approved a set of routine appointments and procurement items in a series of voice votes.
Appointments: The council consented to reappoint Daniel Drucker and Art Hyland to the Planning & Zoning Commission (five-year terms to 2031), and Kimberly Coniglio and Sonya Dobrevuel to the Historic Preservation Commission (three-year terms to 2029). Motions were made and seconded as recorded and each appointment carried by voice vote.
Grants and contracts: The council approved a proposal to engage (as recorded) Hampton, Lehi and Renwick to complete an FRA grade-crossing elimination grant application for Appleton Road, not to exceed $3,600 (funded from line item 4151108025). The council also approved Testing Service Corporation for required material testing for the Municipal Parking Lot No. 7 reconstruction in the amount of $22,750 (paid from grant and capital funds).
Equipment purchases: The street department will buy a 2026 John Deere wheeled excavator from Westside Tractor Sales for $345,532.85 (including trade-in) and a 2026 John Deere mini excavator for $140,446.49; both purchases were approved from FY2027 capital funds.
Votes were taken by voice on each motion and the mayor declared the motions passed. The meeting record shows no roll-call tallies for the individual motions beyond the committee's earlier roll call (nine present).
