Houston County commissioners award road, hauling and fuel contracts

Commissioner Gene Stokes then moved to award the hauling contract to Womack Trucking. Commissioner Jimmy Henderson seconded; that motion also carried 4 to 0. The contract assigns hauling services for county road operations to Womack Trucking.
On fuel supplies, Commissioner Jimmy Henderson moved to award the airport resale AV gas contract to Campbell Oil (bidder #3), bulk delivery of on- and off-road gas and diesel to First County Feed (bidder #2), and gas/diesel for county vehicles at the pump to Crockett Farm & Fuel (bidder #1). Commissioner Stokes seconded the consolidated motion; it passed 4 to 0.
Commissioner Willie Kitchen called the special meeting to order at 9:04 a.m., led the opening prayer and pledges, and later moved to adjourn the session at 9:23 a.m.; the motion passed and the court rose. County Judge Jim Lovell was listed as absent for the meeting. County Clerk Terri Meadows attested to the minutes, which show the court approved the awards and adjourned; the minutes are dated as approved on April 28, 2026.
