Engineer Bergman told the board the Highway Department wants to update pedestrian ramps on the Casey Jones Trail at the CSAH 25 crossing. The work requires a cooperative agreement with the State of Minnesota; Director Bergman recommended proceeding with the state cooperative agreement for the 90th Avenue improvements.
Commissioner Doug Nagel moved and Commissioner Dan Wildermuth seconded approval of the Casey Jones State Trail–Pipestone County Segment, 90th Avenue Improvements Cooperative Agreement with the State of Minnesota. The motion carried 3–0 with Commissioners Hollingsworth and Roskamp absent.
The minutes indicate that state staff from the Department of Natural Resources or the appropriate state agency will be parties to the cooperative agreement; no dollar amount or implementation schedule was recorded in the minutes. County staff said construction is expected to begin on other county projects soon, and the board approved moving forward with the agreement to permit the ramp updates.
