The sheriff’s guests also described a Junior Deputies program for youth ages 11–17 that provides leadership and exposure to law‑enforcement careers, school outreach on bike and pedestrian safety supported by a state grant, and pop‑up events and food distributions to seniors and other residents. Sergeant Bynum and Sergeant Moore described the Junior Deputies/Explorers curriculum, field trips and leadership emphasis.
Officials said the Shop with a Sheriff program pairs underserved children with deputies and provides $150–$200 gift cards for holiday shopping. Participants said the office seeks to visit at least one school in every city within Fulton County and noted roughly 30 schools touched by programs this year.
