BLM right-of-way authorization: Commissioner Greg Miles described a Bureau of Land Management right-of-way amendment (UTU-81573) authorizing construction, widening, paving and a parking area along roughly 2.7 miles of Wells Draw Road in Gate Canyon, covering about 24.5 acres. Commissioner Jeff Chugg moved to authorize the chair to sign the right-of-way; motion seconded and approved unanimously.
Vouchers: Deputy Clerk-Auditor Oaklee Larsen presented vouchers for May 11, 2026, check numbers 172828 through 172930 totaling $1,252,193.19. The commission voted unanimously to approve the vouchers.
Other motions and procedural items: The commission approved a motion to permit Roosevelt's APRC to return to the city for a request for donated road base for Teddy's Playground, approved the May 4, 2026 minutes, recessed mid-morning and held two closed sessions (one on pending litigation and one on personnel) during which no formal action was taken.
The commission also received a Human Resources update noting four open positions (Flagger seasonal; Justice Court Clerk part time; Travel & Tourism Assistant part time; Truck Driver/Equipment Operator) and an Employee of the Month presentation recognizing Duchesne Librarian Katherine Miller.
Formal vote tallies recorded at the meeting show unanimous votes on the listed motions by the three commissioners present: Commissioners Tracy Killian, Jeff Chugg and Chairman Greg Miles.
