Board approves agenda and consent items; attempt to postpone presentations fails

The Rock Hill School Board conducted routine business at its May 12 meeting, approving the published agenda and the consent action items and adjourning after receiving reports and presentations.
An early motion by board member Doctor Belton sought to remove (postpone) presentations for Richmond Drive, Ebenezer Avenue and York Road until additional map and projection data were available. The motion failed for lack of a second and was not adopted.
The published agenda was then moved and seconded and carried; the presiding officer recorded the tally as five in favor and one opposed among members participating in the room and on the line. Later, the consent action agenda (minutes from April 28 and recommended personnel actions) was approved on a recorded voice vote as 7–0.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn that carried 7–0. No citizen participation was recorded for the public-participation portion of the agenda.
The board will continue discussions of the FY26–27 budget at a May 20 public hearing and on May 26, when trustees plan to act on the general fund.
