The Isanti County Board on April 21 approved several planning and land-use items and scheduled additional public hearings. The board approved a preliminary plat for Old House Hill submitted by the Jane Chapman Living Trust and approved an amendment to a 2019 Conditional Use Permit for Pam Streed’s farm winery, finding the amendment met five standard findings regarding neighborhood impacts, development compatibility, utilities, parking, and nuisance controls.
The board set three public hearings for May 19, 2026: a rezoning request by H2 Landholdings LLC to rezone a parcel in Cambridge Township from Agriculture/Residential to Business; an amendment to the Isanti County Zoning Ordinance (Section 6) concerning transfer of development rights; and an amendment to the same ordinance to clarify that certain public uses (cemeteries, town halls, essential services, churches and county parks) shall not reduce development rights in a quarter-quarter section. Two planning commission items from April 9 were tabled until the May 14 Planning Commission meeting.
All votes on planning items during the meeting were recorded as unanimous among attending commissioners (Duff, LaRowe, Christensen and Berg), with Commissioner Westerberg absent. The hearings will take place in the County Board Room at the Isanti County Government Center.
