Colin Murphy, senior operations manager at the 6 Hour Academy, presented plans for a 100‑by‑40 foot open‑air Douglas‑fir timber pavilion to be used for events at the Sig Sauer property and said the structure is not a shooting structure and would use existing on‑site electrical for minimal LED lighting and fans.
"It'll be an event pavilion... it's not a shooting structure," Murphy said, describing a six‑inch concrete pad, 10x10 posts and standing seam roofing. Staff explained that town staff and Glenn recommended treating the change as a "note to file" — a lower‑intensity procedural entry used where changes do not affect runoff or meet thresholds for a full site plan — rather than requiring a new site plan application.
Board members debated whether the pavilion was large enough to require an addendum or a full site plan (members cited the 15% addendum threshold). After discussion and a request for a memo from staff clarifying the interpretation, a motion to add the pavilion area as a note to file was moved and seconded and approved by voice vote.
Staff told the applicant to coordinate with the building inspector and fire department for permits and inspections as the project proceeds.
